John Skinner is one of a new breed of golf coaches who has developed multiple areas of expertise and a modern approach to golf coaching. By utilizing his knowledge and skills in all areas that effect golfing performance, John is able to create faster and simpler improvement programs that make learning the game fun, refreshing and most importantly successful!
But where did it all start?
Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, John Skinner found the game of golf at the age of 11 and has been heavily involved in the game ever since.
As an amateur John represented his county, Suffolk at junior and senior level picking up numerous titles including the Suffolk Under 18’s Junior Championship at the age of 16, winning by 11 shots!
John has been a fully qualified PGA class AA Professional for almost 15 years. He realized early into his professional career that his passion was for coaching others and has spent the last 10 years as a full time coach. Having qualified as a PGA Professional, John’s development does not stop there. John feels it is important to strive to develop as a teaching professional. The Continued Professional Development Program recognises 6 levels of professionals. John is currently studying towards becoming an Advanced member of the PGA. His ultimate goal? Master Professional
John has continued to study and further his knowledge in all areas that may help to develop his pupil’s golf such as the latest research into the swing technique and methods to coach it, biomechanics and fitness, and sports psychology. John specialises in creating personalised improvement programmes based around the golfers ability, commitment, objectives and practice time that their lifestyle allows. This means a plan that will bring about quicker and longer lasting improvement while allowing the pupil to develop entirely at their own pace.
